Introduction: What is a Canne Anatomy Stand Up or Canne Stand Up?
But for the first time, it marked a new category, the Audience Choice Award: The Canne Anatomy Standing Ovation. And the winner was “The Artist.”
The Canne Anatomy Standing Ovation, the first of its kind, was the result of a competition that opened the world’s eyes to stand up comedy. For many years people had enjoyed sitting down to listen their cannes but this new event brought something new and different. It allowed audiences to see stand-up live which is impossible most places outside of Paris or New York City. The event started in front of the international buyers who eagerly awaited their chance to vote for their favorite comedian. It was a category that would be easily won by anyone with a large following and for the first time, it was. The Artist had become the king.
How Cannes Stand Up Work?
The Canne Anatomy Standing Ovation was created by the film-makers of “The Artist,” as a tribute to their heritage and as a way of continuing to honour the legendary French cinema legends who have come before them. To be awarded the Standing Ovation, audiences will have to vote for their favourite film of the Festival via a mobile app, and then come together in one of the Festival’s cinemas to watch the victory film on Thursday 27th May.
This year the Standing Ovation jury will have the choice of three films that have received the most votes from the audience, and 7 films that have been shortlisted for the award at a press conference on Tuesday 4th May. The winners will be announced by Thierry Frémont, Director General of Cannes. The winner will receive a standing ovation and a personal message from Bruno Le Maire, French Minister for Culture and Communication.
The festivalgoers will be able to vote daily throughout the festival and submit their choice of film as well as find out more information about the Festival using the app “My Festival”. The app provides links to all of the festival’s official sites, deals on tickets for screenings and museums and gives access to the Festival’s official news service. Users can also look up everything they need to know in relation to their event including the location, show time, ticket price and more.
Why Do I Need to Buy an Anatomy Stand Up App Instead of a Book?
You can find the approach to the Canne competition in the Official Competition Handbook, which will be generally on sale at cinemas from 14th April onwards.
This year the program of the Festival de Cannes goes out of its way to give a platform to a new generation of cinema and to reflect on some major social issues.
“In our day and age, Cannes is being driven by an increasingly powerful youthquake. Cinema is no longer relegated to the big screen; it has become a popular, contemporary art form,” said Pierre Lescure, President of the Festival de Cannes. “Cannes 2018 offers both a re-examination of old forms and an exploration into new territories. This is why our competition has a strong focus on young directors, both in terms of their age and their backgrounds, and seeks to give them a platform to express themselves.”
